Delighted award winners Frank Bornemann and Ulrich Henneke received the “Oscar” for SMEs at the awards gala held by the Oskar-Patzelt-Stiftung on September 6. The partners at Vollack Saxony were particularly thrilled because this competition only nominates companies proposed by the municipalities, associations, institutions or other companies, so it is a major proof of appreciation.
Vollack’s four-phase method for developing, planning and constructing buildings and preserving their value, which was developed in-house, was certainly a major reason for their distinction. “If Bauhaus taught architects the importance of functionality, then Vollack is teaching the construction industry the strategy.” says the foundation on its website. Vollack Saxony was previously honored as a finalist in 2013.
Across Germany, approx. 4,500 companies, banks and municipalities were nominated for the competition, including around 470 SMEs from Saxony. When the award winners were selected, the nominated companies were considered as a whole and with regard to their role within society. The following factors were evaluated: outstanding overall development, creation and preservation of jobs and traineeships, modernization and innovation, commitment to the local region as well as service, proximity to customers and marketing. More than 500 entrepreneurs and guests attended the gala at the Maritim Hotel in Dresden.
