Next landing point: a new era of aviation.
For the pioneer in urban air mobility Volocopter, a hangar of around 3,000 square meters is being built with office and storage space as well as a maintenance hall with eight seats for maintenance, testing and certification of the electric-powered air cabs called Volocity. The flexible, open design will be optimized to meet the spatial requirements of the aircraft. The color scheme of the facade, in contrasting hues and horizontally articulated, will highlight the delicate building contours.
An "office cockpit" on the upper floor will combine the main office and technical functions. In the approximately 4,000-square-meter outdoor area, test and demonstration areas will be created in all common surfaces for takeoff and landing operations, including so-called helipads for high-rise buildings, a special construction with a characteristic planking system.Vollack is responsible for the planning, design and implementation of the new building. The building is scheduled for completion as early as the end of the year.
