The new four-story office and production building with a gross floor area of approximately 5,300 square meters will expand the campus of Berlin.Industrial.Group (B.I.G.), a dynamic network of highly specialized technology companies and startups. The five-hectare campus currently consists of six buildings housing offices, workshops, production facilities, and a makerspace. Here, B.I.G. companies and startups develop solutions for future-focused industries such as medical technology, mechanical engineering, energy, and environmental technologies.

Vollack is planning and delivering the new building using a hybrid timber construction method with a high proportion of wood. Combined with building technologies including air-source heat pumps, thermally activated building systems, and a rooftop photovoltaic system, the project will create tailored workplace environments for collaboration, development, and production.

The building will become the future headquarters of Scansonic, B.I.G.'s largest company and a leader in laser technology. The additional space will provide greater capacity for development, collaboration, and the production of innovative laser technology solutions.
