Sustainable: Clean code development.
Advanced timber hybrid construction.
In Karlsruhe, Vollack realized the new, 3,000 square meter working environment for the IT service provider generic.de in a progressive timber hybrid construction. The new two- and three-storey building invites people to work together. The software development areas in particular have an open design and offer around 100 employees ideal conditions for exchanging ideas, thanks in part to the many meeting areas.
Significant architecture.
With its significant architecture in the form of a barcode, which mirrors the signet in the generic.de logo, the building deliberately turns away from the orthogonal and thus creates a connection with the surrounding residential and commercial buildings as well as an adjacent sports field.
Main focus on sustainability.
The corporate principle of “Clean Code Development”, according to which generic.de develops its sustainable software, is not only reflected in the slogan, but also in the construction method: here, as in the software development, the main focus was clearly on sustainability. The new building was planned by Vollack to be energy-efficient and built as a passive house. In accordance with the KfW 55 standard, it consumes only 55 percent primary energy compared to a conventional building.
Awarded as BIM Champion.
Particular honor: Vollack, together with generic.de, submitted the project in the construction category of the competition for the coveted BIM Champion trophy - with success. The award recognizes exceptional achievements in the application of the disciplines of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Lean Construction (LEAN) in the planning and execution of buildings.
As a company, generic.de stands for sustainability in particular. With the new company headquarters, we also wanted to demonstrate this in the building - and we succeeded impressively in cooperation with Vollack.
