Intuitive Campus as a forward-looking corporate headquarters.

Intuitive, a global leader in minimally invasive medical care and a pioneer in robot-assisted surgery, has built a new, forward-looking corporate headquarters in Freiburg with a gross floor area of around 30,000 square meters. It offers space for around 600 employees. The Intuitive Campus comprises an administration building with a training center, state-of-the-art research and development facilities, a production building, a parking garage, and an energy center that supplies all buildings. Different working environments offer space for communication, collaboration, and creative exchange, as well as for concentrated work. A cafeteria on the ground floor connects all areas. Vollack was commissioned with the planning of all buildings and the construction of the office building, the energy center, and the outdoor facilities.

The Company Headquarters in the Context of Intuitive’s Sustainability Strategy.

The company headquarters, with views of the Feldberg and Europa-Park Stadium, is an important part of Intuitive’s overall corporate strategy. When constructing new buildings, Intuitive follows an internal sustainability strategy that complements the criteria of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) – ecology, economy, and sociocultural aspects.

Requirements for
certification met.

The areas were designed in accordance with BEG40NH and the Gold Certification standard of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). The planned energy demand is 60 percent lower than that of a comparable conventional building. In addition, the energy supply is based on industrial waste heat from a neighboring facility in combination with photovoltaic systems and heat pump technology.
