Efficient and sustainable all around.
With the new building measuring around 3,500 square meters, the Ortenaukreis district will consolidate its offices at the Kehl site. The result will be an open, service-oriented administrative facility that meets the high demands of a modern administration and will also be very easy to reach by public transport.
The new administration building in solid construction with a consistently sustainably planned energy and architectural concept will in future house the Municipal Employment Promotion Office (KOA), the Office for Social Affairs and Supply, the Municipal Social Service, the Psychological Counseling Center and the Motor Vehicle Citizens' Office.
The building will meet the highest energy standards, as it is designed as a KfW Efficiency House 40. Vollack will use the thermal storage capacity of concrete for an efficient heating and cooling supply. So-called concrete core activation, in combination with a seasonal ground storage system, will reliably ensure comfortable temperatures in the building. Green energy will be produced by a photovoltaic system. Vollack also relies on regional recycled concrete. Its advantages lie in local value creation, short supply chains and the conservation of resources compared to conventional concrete.
