Sustainability in new dimensions.
Completely renovated for energy efficiency.
In Schorndorf, electrical engineering wholesaler Emil Löffelhardt has moved into one of Germany's most modern fully automated logistics centers on the former Bauknecht site, multiplying its floor space. The former halls 2 and 3 were completely renovated and revitalized to meet energy efficiency standards, covering an area of around 24,500 square meters. A new building with an area of 9,700 square meters was also added.
Logistics clearly structured.
The 27-meter-high high-bay warehouse is striking and visible from afar. Eight storage and retrieval machines, each weighing around eleven tons, operate here. The shuttle warehouse with 95,000 container spaces for the standard range and a shelf warehouse with 1,700 shelves for piece goods up to three meters in length complete the logistics center.
Energy self-sufficient and modern.
Modern workplaces in logistics and administration offer the more than 300 employees optimum working comfort and promote creativity. A training center completes the site. The photovoltaic system covering more than 4,000 square meters on the roof of the former Hall 2 produces so much electricity that the company can largely supply itself.

The construction of our new, sustainable company headquarters is the largest investment in our company's history. Vollack was our partner in all phases of our project, from the decision to purchase the existing property and the strategic decision-making process for the complete relocation, to the concept and design, to the integration of the logistics equipment and the development of the office working environments."
