Sustainable healthcare project: care, advice, treatment
Nursing school and health center.
Vollack planned and built a nursing school and a health center for the Bethanien Moers Foundation, united under one roof. The three-storey building, including the fifth floor, covers a total area of around 4,200 square meters. With a clinker brick façade in the entrance area, divided horizontally by balconies, the building is architecturally attractive, light and airy. Compared to a conventional building, the BEG 55 subsidized building saves 45 percent energy.
Nursing school with a vision.
The new nursing school offers around 25 employees ten classrooms with state-of-the-art equipment. For practical training, there are three so-called skills labs - rooms that are set up like patient rooms and enable realistic practice of nursing situations. A creative workshop, meeting rooms, learning islands as flexible learning areas, staff rooms and a library round off the facilities.
Various medical disciplines under one roof.
The health center houses the outpatient clinic for child psychiatry and child psychosomatics, a pharmacy and a medical supply store. In addition to the practices of the Medical Care Center (MVZ), the Moers Cardiology Practice and the Moers Oncology Practice have also been added. All of the practices located there benefit from good networking with the hospital and professional exchange, while Bethanien has been able to expand its medical services by moving here. The close proximity to the Bethanien Foundation hospital is a further advantage.

The construction of a nursing school was particularly important for us in times of a shortage of skilled nursing staff. The location of our new health center - directly on the Bethanien campus - creates very short distances, especially to the hospital. Everyone benefits from this, especially the patients.
