A Milestone in Leverkusen’s Health Park.
With the new nursing school in the Health Park, Leverkusen Hospital is setting new standards in nursing education. With a gross floor area of 4,000 square meters spread across four stories, the facility accommodates up to 150 trainees per year and ranks among the most modern nursing education centers in the Rhineland. In 2018, Vollack completed a parking garage and surface parking spaces on the hospital campus. The new L-shaped building was subsequently constructed above the existing garage. The building now provides modern working and learning environments.
An attractive learning environment.
A dedicated Skills Lab includes two patient rooms equipped with advanced computer-controlled simulation mannequins for hands-on training. Both patient beds are monitored by cameras, allowing live video to be transmitted to every classroom. Trainees benefit from large interactive touch displays in all classrooms as well as auto-tracking cameras that support hybrid teaching formats.
In addition to the nursing school, the new building also houses the hospital’s data center and the medical division of the City of Leverkusen’s Department of Health.
Green façades and landscaped roof areas.
One of the highlights of the new building is its green façade. It complements the architectural design and contributes to shading the building envelope. Large portions of the roof areas have also been landscaped with vegetation. A rooftop terrace is available for staff, providing an outdoor space for breaks and relaxation.

Our goal is to continuously advance healthcare services in Leverkusen and the surrounding region. In addition to high-end medical care, this requires above all highly qualified professionals. The new nursing school provides Klinikum Leverkusen’s trainees with an attractive learning environment and supports high-quality nursing education."
