Milestone for Leverkusen Health Park.
With its new nursing school in the health park, Leverkusen Hospital is setting new standards in nursing training. With a gross floor area of 4,000 square meters and four floors, it can accommodate up to 150 trainees per year and is one of the most modern training facilities for nursing staff in the Rhineland. In 2018, Vollack built an underground car park and ground-level parking spaces on the hospital campus. Now, the underground car park has been built over for the L-shaped new building. Modern working and learning environments have been created in the building.
Attractive learning environment.
In a so-called SkillsLab, two patient rooms have been set up with modern, computer-controlled simulation phantoms for practical training. Both patient beds are captured by a camera that can transmit the image to every classroom. Trainees benefit from large, interactive touch displays in all classrooms as well as auto-tracking cameras for hybrid teaching.
In addition to the nursing school, the new building also houses the hospital's data center and the medical section of the City of Leverkusen's health department.
Façade contributes to biodiversity.
One highlight of the new building is its green façade. Not only does it protect and insulate the building, it also improves the microclimate and contributes to biodiversity. Large sections of the roof have also been greened. A roof terrace is available for staff to enjoy breaks outdoors.

Our goal is to continuously improve healthcare in Leverkusen and the surrounding region. In addition to high-end medicine, this requires, above all, highly qualified personnel. The new nursing school provides trainees at the hospital with an attractive learning environment and ensures high-quality nursing training."
